Brian Cullen's Love Bullets

Follow up to Ask for directions, for this EP I worked with the band to produce a 96 page book as the CD packaging! The CD fitted into a custom made folder in the centre of the book. Given that the EP is themed around pandemics and plagues of the middle ages, particularly the Black Death, the idea here was to design a 'diseased book' with all content throughout the book dismantled, merged, corrupted, mis-referenced and otherwise disrupted.

Whilst researching, I found a book in Oxfam on Parliament Street entitled Magic in the Middle Ages where I read of the SATOR square, a common magical device in folk belief. I used this on the cover as a talisman against the disease inside. I presented this to the band and explained the story behind my discovery. It transpired that Rachel (vox/guitar/synth) had donated that very book to Oxfam on Parliament Street some time before.
