The things we believe
“We cannot remember the things we believe” (inverted)
“We cannot remember the things we believe” (inverted)
This is the inverse of “We cannot remember the things we believe”, being the cut away lines of text from 'America, The Beautiful: being a collection of documents and speeches which have laid the cornerstone of democracy for the United States of America'.

What is left is a fluid form, shapeless but defined in fragments and partials. It is a set of declarations and dogmas dismantled, rendering clearly their inherent fragility and also the necessary consensus in maintaining their solidity. This form is perhaps a more accurate reflection of how we actually hold together our beliefs and opinions, lines of text, divorced from the original frame of a book, gathered into some semblance of structure.
